If different people perceive Tarot to be different things to each, then perhaps one's birthday could suffice to be their own celebrated Tarot Day.  In that way, Tarot could be potentially acknowledged and celebrated daily throughout the year instead of just on one day in the year.   Grin

As alway RChMI
You have an interesting take of things.

Also I noticed that there was too much notice taken of the scurrilous lies about Tarot

and not enough celebration of what Tarot can be.

Kind of curious that the day selected to represent National Tarot Day (NTD) was the time frame which corresponds to 8 Swords.  The aspect of this card's esoteric title of Lord of Shortened Force seems somewhat inappropriate as to the expectations proported for that day.  Although, it can be understood that the day in question could be taken in the context of that of 8 Swords as being a Decan of Gemini, with Gemini being associated with that of The Lovers.  However, one might put forward the notion that it might have been somewhat more appropriate if NTD were recognized during the period of 31 March through 10 April.  Wherein the corresponding card would be 3 Wands as Lord of Established Strength, and that of The Emperor.   In that manner, a more dominant or authoritative aspect could be garnered about the day, rather than just the notion of infatuation which that of The Lovers tends to convey to most.

World Tarot Day May 25th!
« on: May 23, 2007, 12:36:29 AM »

Any one know much about this milestone day?

Sponsored by the wonderful Tarot teacher, reader, and leader, DenElder, National Tarot Day celebrates our wonderful gift of the cards, and our skills and intuition using them.

It is dedicated to every person who has, does, or will recognize Tarot as a valuable self-help tool.

National Tarot Day is --
To promote the use of the Tarot tool across all human made borders, be they political boundaries, misunderstandings of the mind, or ignorance of the tool itself, for the benefit and growth of the Spiritual Self.

Its purpose is:
To promote Tarot's use beyond any public conception of it as 'evil' or Satanic.

To promote Tarot uses in honest manner with integrity.

To promote the use of Tarot in responsible manner beyond both use as an unsavory monetary "fortune-telling" scheme, as well as use as a crutch by those unwilling to take responsibility for their own future and/or behavior.

To promote Tarot use as a tool for self-examination, spirituality, and other self-aide methods of guidance.

To have at least one day to celebrate, share, and stimulate our love of the Tarot tool with each other, and to think about what we can 'give' to instead of what we can 'take' from the Tarot Community.
